Hello! We are Nicole Ditaranto and KK Walker, partners in both life and art.

We live in Bellingham, Washington, on the unceded lands of the Lummi, Nooksack, Samish, and Semiahmoo native peoples. We have two dogs, Ralph and Drogon (a.k.a. the Boys), that bring us lots of ridiculousness and laughter.

We spent our first few dates sharing moments of creativity and adventure--sitting beneath the trees, paddle boarding, camping, and making tie-dye shirts with friends. We quickly discovered a mutual love for art, exploration, DIY projects, and creating things with our hands. We started making handmade cards and gifts for our loved ones, and the Pigeon Hole was born. As our relationship has grown, we've supported each other in exploring new sides of our creativity--both in our art and how we move through the world.

Our creative process involves play, experimentation, making mistakes, and learning by doing. We work with ceramics, acrylic paint, watercolors, block printing, felting, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, wood work and digital art.

Creating handmade, one-of-a-kind artwork that brings joy to others is our shared passion. Creativity is at the heart of our relationship and our individual lives. We pour love into every step of the process.

The Pigeons

Nicole is a coach, writer, and maker who grew up in New Jersey and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2012. Moving to Washington awakened Nicole's love for nature, and she enjoys hiking in the mountains and finding rivers to read and write next to.

Nicole's work as a coach focuses on self-discovery, creativity, and helping folks shifts their individual actions in the direction of collective liberation. She has a newsletter called Berries and Brambles where she writes about reinvention, quitting, creativity, and the complexity of being human. She uses art as a mechanism for healing perfectionism and exploring new possibilities.

Nicole loves practicing yoga, puttering in the garden, and playing with clay at Baker Creek Ceramics studio. She's a Capricorn, a musical theater nerd, and a ping pong afficionado.

K is an enthusiastic, fun-loving creative who grew up in Iowa and kept their Midwest easy-going nature. Since moving to the PNW in 2016 to teach, K has continued as an adjunct instructor in the Social Justice department at a local community college and is currently in their 8th year teaching Gender Violence & Social Change.

K has a deep connection to the disability community and continues their creative work in eLearning in the developmental disabilities field. Some of their endeavors include expanding the scope and quality of digital accessibility, creating accessible eLearning in meaningful collaborations, including with the Brain and Memory Health Group.

They also love playing board games, puzzles, audio books, going on road trips, hot tubbing, and scoping out wildlife.
